Royal And The Southern Echo is a nostalgic look over the shoulder, a very Australian take on Americana, it’s a cinematic interpretation of the ridiculousness of modern life and love.

New single ‘Hunt Your Love Down’ is a tongue in cheek look at the absurdity what happens during a broken relationship, and how sometimes when faced with heartbreak all you can do is laugh.

“Lately I’ve really wanted to explore the kind of mild lunacy that seems to follow what we call ‘normal’ life around. That’s sort of what the new single ‘Hunt Your Love Down’ is about….

I was trying to win back the affections of my longterm on and off partner by throwing a dinner party. I thought if I could show her I’m an adult, and host something like this for her and our friends, she might come back around.

Everything went well until we all had too much wine and one of my friends got into an argument with one of her friends and the whole thing fell dramatically apart.

I remember waking up from that and picking up the guitar and the song just fell out of my head.

It’s these kinds of bizarre situations that are heartbreaking in a comedic sort of way.”

Telling the story of an eternal back and forth relationship, and featuring horn section help from friends Pete Bernoth and Scott Bromiley of The John Steel Singers, as well as Ryan Strath and Graham Ritchie from Holy Holy on drums and bass, new single ‘Hunt Your Love Down’ is the first of a collection of intimate moments in Schneider’s life broadcasted loud and thematic in an debut EP later this year.

The video for ‘Hunt Your Love Down’ plays in a dystopian Hunger Games-esque world of forbidden love.
