Brisbane musician Aaron Maybus is on a quest to raise awareness for depression, anxiety, mental health and suicide. In an epic bike ride across Western Australia Aaron and a team of riders will trek from Perth to Broome in an epic 150 km -a- day ride for eight days across the state. A massive distance all to raise money and awareness for such an important issue.
The team are riding to raise money for the Black Dog Institute The Black Dog Institute is dedicated to understanding, preventing and treating mental illness. The Black Dog Institute was founded in 2002 and is internationally recognised as a pioneer in the identification, prevention and treatment of mental illness, and the promotion of wellbeing.
It’s fair to say that this year the music industry has been rocked by the sudden losses of two of music’s biggest icons Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. Sadly suicide in the arts industry is at alarming rates and its a topic that needs awareness raised to make sure we as an industry and society are able to protect and assist those most affected.
